ELENA CLARE IS AN UNDERWATER VIDEOGRAPHER, PHOTOGRAPHER, EDITOR & ARTIST 

 

Studying a Film Studies course at University elenaclare pursued a passion to understand the making of motion pictures. While this was interesting and informative it didn't lead to a career that appealed. A long standing interest in photography and travel led to an adventure underwater - she tried scuba diving in the paradise of the Gulf of Thailand while on a trip through South East Asia and fell in love. Combining a new passion for diving and an increasing interest in creating films led to one outcome: Underwater Cinematography.

 

​Completing the PADI Pro Underwater Cinematography course at The Film Company on Koh Tao, Thailand gave her the skills and honed her creativity into a new world. On completion of the course she was required to complete final projects, which can be viewed on this page. During a work day she filmed an Open Water course in the morning, edited and added music in the afternoon and screened it to the students and Instructors in the evening. During the two morning dives there was the possiblity to film turtles, stingrays, puffer fish, sea snakes and much more; as well as the students undertaking the course!

Currently working in Exmouth, Western Australia on the World Famous Ningaloo Reef - one of the largest fringing reefs in the world - as a videographer and dive guide. Many magical ocean days! Whalesharks, Manta Rays, turtles, sharks and everything else the beautiful underwater world has to offer.
